Ziziphus jujuba, Ber – Ziziphus mauritiana is a hardy tree that copes with extreme temperatures and thrives under rather dry conditions. The fruit is eaten raw, pickled or used in beverages. It is quite nutritious and rich in vitamin C. It is second only to guava and much higher than citrus or apples.

Terminalia arjuna, Arjun Tree- Arjuna also known as the à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Arjun treeà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬  is a widely grown tree in India. It has various medicinal properties like antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial. Arjuna is a large deciduous tree with spreading crown and drooping branches.

Dalbergia sissoo, Sheesham – Dalbergia sissoo, known commonly as North Indian rosewood or shisham, is a fast-growing, hardy, deciduous rosewood tree native to the Indian subcontinent. Dalbergia sissoo is used as firewood, timber, poles, posts, tool handles, fodder, erosion control and as a windbreak.

Azadirachta indica, Neem- Neem (Azadirachta indica) is a tree now planted across the world because of its properties as a natural medicine, pesticide, and fertilizer. Neem extracts can be used against hundreds of pests and fungal diseases that attack food crops.

Peltophorum ferrugineum, Peela Gulmohar- Gulmohar is an ornament plant also known as flame tree. Gulmohar is well known for its beautiful floweà ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡ ¹ But it also has some medicinal properties like Anti-diabetic activity, Anti-bacterial activity, Anti-diarrheal property, etc.

Butea monosperma, Palash- Butea is used for timber, resin, fodder, medicine, and dye. The bark and the flowers and the leaves and the gum and even the seeds are used to prepare herbal remedies. Palash is also the State Flower of Jharkhand. It is said that the tree is a form of Agni, the God of fire and war.
